AC/DC ROCKER BRIAN JOHNSON ‘HEADLINES’ AT WINEFEST CONCOURS!
Sarasota Café Racer and his ’28 4.5-Litre Bentley LeMans stole the spotlight at the 2nd Annual Concours Du Vin Classico.
This year’s 20th Annual Winefest included educational seminars, winemaker dinners, parties and a live auction, culminating with the Taste Of Winefest at Phillippi Estate Park on Sunday, April 25th. In addition to food and wine tasting and music, the Sarasota Café Racers (www.SarasotaCafeRacers.com) staged its 2nd Annual Concours Du Vin Classico. This year the Car Guys Who Lunch showcased a veritable treasure trove of classic marques, from Austin-Healey to Zagato.
Show goers were treated to more than 30 vintage, specialty and high-performance cars, ranging from Brian and Brenda Johnson’s ’28 Bentley LeMans and Dale Power’s ’30 Bentley Tourer to Rick Rone’s 2009 ZR1 Corvette, Marcello Serrato’s 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, Bill Reynold’s 2010 Jaguar XKR, Bob Goeldner’s Lamborghini Gallardo, Lou Bevilacqua's 2006 Ferrari 575M and David Provost’s McLaren SLR.
With this year’s distributions, the Florida Winefest has awarded more than $7 million in grants to 74 qualified not-for-profit charitable children’s programs in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The grants support programs designed to help disadvantaged children and youth lead self-sufficient and productive lives. Cheers!
