Aston Martin DBR1
Built on a heritage of GT Racing and culminating in an historic victory in the 1959 Le Mans 24 Hours with the DBR1, Aston Martin announced its return to competitive motorsport in 2003. Consecutive wins at the Le Mans in the GT1 class in 2007 & 2008 followed, as well as a fourth place finish in 2009 with a new LMP1 car. In 2009 the V12 Vantage claimed a class victory at the Nürburgring 24-hour race – on its race debut - on a track that they regard as the ultimate engineering test for
its road cars.
Aston Martin has been independently owned since 2007 by a consortium of two major financial institutions: Investment Dar & Adeem Investment based in Kuwait. Aston Martin’s CEO is Dr. Ulrich Bez.
