RON CIARAVELLA: ‘GO FAST & BE HAPPY’

Sarasota Café Racer lives life in the fast lane!

Ron Ciaravella knows fast!

During the week the president of Dolphin Aviation at SRQ Airport in Sarasota, FL daily drives an Aston Martin Vantage. On weekends he can be seen tooling around the Suncoast on his 110-horsepower American Iron Horse bike or jumping waves with his wife in their 31-foot Baja Outlaw powered by a pair of hot Corvette small-blocks. For longer weekend jaunts he pilots his

0.82 Mach Lear 25D!

What really turns Ron on however is racing. After a few years of competing in open wheel spec racers and winning championships, Ron in 1994 graduated to a seriously fast ex-Pratt & Miller 1989 Spice GTP (#89-003). It’s powered by a Katech 6.3-liter small-block with GM Gen III engine management. Jim Miller had campaigned it from 1989 through the 1993 season. In 1990 Riley & Scott modified the Spice and it became the test bed for the famous Intrepid racecar.

He has been campaigning his Spice every vintage racing season since 1994 and has co-driven it with serious shoes like Dorsey Shrader, Roger Mandeville, Jack Baldwin, Jeff Kline, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, Walt Boron and Bill Adam.

The right lane does not exist for Ron Ciaravella!
