2010 HOT ROD POWER TOUR: ULTIMATE CAR GUY CRUISE

It’s three in a row for Sarasota Café Racer Randy McGowen who believes that all cars, even show cars, should be driven!

Nothing turns Sarasota Café Racer Randy McGowen on like an opportunity to participate in the HOT ROD Power Tour. In 2008 he defied logic by make the weeklong cruise in his ’07 Ariel Atom, a tube-framed rocketship powered by a supercharged Chevy four-banger and has no windshield, top or trunk! Last year he made the trip in his ’36 (Glenn Pray) Auburn Speedster. At least it has a top, windows and trunk!

A couple of years older and a lot wiser, Randy chose a more conservative ride for the hobby’s ultimate car guy cruise. Last month Randy completed the seven day 2010 HOT ROD Power Tour in his rare ’56 Lincoln Continental Mark II. Powered by a stock 368-inch V-8, the luxurious, full-power coupe aced the trip that started at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA, hit Springfield and DuQuoin, IL and Bowling Green, KY, ending in Mobile, AL.

Now Randy will have to buy a new ride for the 2011 Tour!
