Jaguar debuted its limited edition, 75th anniversary 2011 XKR175 coupe today at the McCall’s Motorworks Revival at the Monterey Jet Center. It was the kickoff of celebratory events being held at Pebble Beach, Laguna Seca and around the Monterey peninsula. It was the first appearance of the exclusive sports car in North America.
Powered by a supercharged V-8 rated at 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, the XKR175 has a top speed (electronically limited) of 174 mph. To ensure that the XKR175 remains stable at high speeds, a revised aerodynamic package has been installed. It incorporates a new front air dam, new side sills, a new rear diffuser and a larger rear spoiler providing increased balance and lift reduction. New 20-inch Kasuga 10-spoke alloy wheels, red brake calipers and Ultimate Black exterior paint are standard.
Inside, "XKR175 – 1 of 175" doorsill tread plates greet the driver and passenger. Interior appointments include Warm Charcoal leather with Cranberry stitching and Piano Black wood veneer trim.
Production of the XKR175 is limited to 175 vehicles at an MSRP of $104,500 (including destination). There will be 15 Jaguar XKR175 models reserved for the Canadian market.
