BOB LUTZ: RETURN OF THE CONSUMMATE CAR GUY?

‘Maximum Bob’ is rumored to return to GM after being phased into early retirement at age 78!

Bob Lutz drives fast cars, rides fast motorcycles and pilots fast de-commissioned fighter jets. Both he and his wife have helicopters. He is the poster boy for living life in the fast lane. He not only talks the talk, he walks the walk. And, he knows product and tells it like it is.

A media magnet and walking photo-op, Lutz understands product engineering, development and marketing and would once again be an incredible asset for GM. The photo, above, was taken by Joe Polimeni for MOTION Performance, Tales Of A Muscle Car Builder (Motorbooks) in his office before retiring. The model of the plane he flew when he was a Captain in the Marines dwarfs the Baldwin-Motion Phase III Corvette model on his desk. Joel “Mr. Motion” Rosen, a friend and the man behind Baldwin-Motion and Motion Models, supplied both.
