CHEVY SUPERCHARGED UTE: 175-MPH EL CAMINO!

South African tuner LupiniPower builds a blown Corvette powered Chevy Ute that thinks it’s a Supercar.

“As huge BMW M fans, we’d love to see the recently exposed M3 Pickup as our SuperUte’s only real market rival,” said Michele Lupini. “Our development cycle is now close to being completed and we’ll soon be ready to deliver.”

Powered by a supercharged 535-horsepower 6-Liter Corvette small-block that generates 590 pound-feet of torque at 3,400 rpm, the SuperUte is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. It can cover the quarter-mile in 12.7 seconds at 113 mph and go from a standing start to 150 mph in under 23 seconds! The only available transmission is a six-speed manual.

LupiniPower’s Chevy SuperUte is not just all speed and power.  Upgrades and improvements extend to bigger race-specification alloy four-piston front disc brakes with 350-mm ventilated and slotted discs. It comes stock with 20-inch alloy wheels, 8.5-inch front and 10-inch rear, shod with Bridgestone Potenza RE050 ultra-high performance tires, 245/35R20 front and 285/30R20 rear. Options include full Bilstein suspension and a limited-slip differential.

Only a limited number of SuperUtes will be built to guarantee exclusivity. Unfortunately all will be right-hand-drive and not exported to the U.S.
