It didn’t carry Prancing Horse badging, but everything about the Dino was pure Ferrari magic.
Between 1968 and 1974, Ferrari produced nearly 4,000 Dinos, including the original 206 GT. Enormously successful, Dino became Ferrari’s brand for mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports cars from the late-1960s to the mid-1970s. The 246-model designation stood for its 2.4-liter, six-cylinder engine. The stunning blue ’73 Dino 246 GTS, above, is owned by Sarasota Café Racer, Bob Goeldner.
“Of all the mid-engine cars of which I have had the experience of testing, the Ferrari Dino 246 GT stands head and shoulders above the rest,” wrote legendary automotive journalist Dennis Jenkinson in Motor Sport (UK) magazine.
