BLUEBIRD EV: RACING FOR A CAUSE!

Sponsored by Honour Motorport Ltd., the latest iteration of the legendary Bluebird will challenge the UK Land Speed Record for electric vehicles.

Nine-time LSR holder and driver, Don Wales, will attempt to eclipse the 137-mph record set in 2000, as well as the first ever top speed of 146 mph reached in a combustion-engined Bluebird by his grandfather, Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE, on the same shores of Carmathen Bay in 1924. The EV Bluebird is scheduled to run this weekend at Pendine Sands, South Wales.

The runs are part of an extensive testing and development program to compete in 2013 for fastest electric vehicle in the world. Their goal: over 500 mph! The latest project is once again raising money and awareness for charitable causes including the Wessex Cardiac Centre at Southampton General Hospital, Help for Heroes, and The Royal Brompton (Chelsea) and Harefield Hospitals.
