Our good friend, Jim Palam, rides shotgun in a rare big-block Chevy-powered Kurtis on the 2011 Mille Miglia North America Tribute.
The folks at Stratus Media Group are responsible for producing the 1,000-mile North America Tribute to the legendary Italian open road endurance race that ran from 1927 to 1957. Stratus Media’s Phil Hoffert drove the Kurtis while our guy, Jim Palam, played navigator. Photo, above, taken at the start, by David Michael Photography.
“The Kurtis is powered by a dual-quad Chevy big-block with Hooker headers and is outrageous. The seats were comfortable, but we never anticipated wind-tunnel velocity blasting into the cockpit from Santa Barbara to Half Moon Bay and San Francisco’s Stinson Beach and back,” said Palam.
One of the most beautiful Ferraris entered with Nick Soprano at the wheel, above, Jim Palam Photo, blasting along Highway 101 North. Soprano brought two priceless Ferraris to the Mille Miglia Tribute owned by a client, the other a spectacular blue 250 coupe.
