TOM MILLER: OLDWICK (NJ) CAFÉ RACER

Consummate car guy surfs, vintage races, tracks down barn find exotics, sells sports cars in Austria and still has time to break bread with the Car Guys Who Lunch in Oldwick, NJ!

In addition to running Tom Miller Sports and Classics in Bound Brook, NJ, he also is involved in a retail vintage car business in Austria. Miller recently attended Bonham’s 12th annual Aston-Only auction at the Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell, UK, where he purchased an incredible recreation of a DB-R that had been raced by Stirling Moss. Built on an early Aston chassis and fitted with a DB-4 engine and running gear, Tom, above photo, right in Cafe Racer shirt, is planning on running it in the Enstall-Classic Rally in the Austrian Alps next month.

In order to spend even more time with vintage sports cars, Tom Miller merged his printing business with a larger firm. Now he can devote the time needed to race his ‘58 Porsche Spyder, above, a tube-framed vintage racer powered by a four-cam Carrera engine and built by Gary Mong. His latest project is searching for a 1965-’66 (K-Code) Mustang Fastback for a 289/271 small-block and four-speed that he recently built.

“I’m having great fun with our local Café Racers lunch group, organized by Dick Payne and Jim Melfi,” said Tom, above. “We have a great bunch of diversified and dedicated enthusiasts who own wonderful cars, ranging from hot rods and musclecars to classics, sports and vintage racers.”

Not a big fan of trailer queens, Tom Miller believes in daily driving his cars, which includes a ’95 Porsche 911/922 C-4 coupe, ’67 Porsche 911S and a ’58 Porsche 356 sunroof Super coupe. His four-cam Porsche Spyder is strictly a racecar.
