Designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti, the four-cam V12 1966-’68 GTB/4 is a racecar in a beautiful Italian suit!
Introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1966, the GTB/4 was the last and most desirable of Ferrari’s 275 series. It was the first production car from Maranello to be powered by the Columbo-designed 3.3-Liter DOHC V12, originally developed for Ferrari’s P2 prototype racer. The dry-sump-lubed 8,000-rpm engine was rated at 300 horsepower, allowing the steel/aluminum bodied Berlinetta to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in six seconds and top out at around 150 mph. The restored matching number yellow ’67 GTB/4, above, is owned by Sarasota Café Racer, Archie Urciuoli.
Our good friend Mike Gullet blogs about an original GTB/4 Survivor with just 11, 500 miles, http://mycarquest.blogspot.com/2011/06/rare-and-classic-1967-ferrari-275-gtb4.html
