Welcome to UAE Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan's wild & wacky 'Rainbow' car collection.
Known as the “Rainbow Sheikh,” Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan has amassed a fascinating collection of both weird and wonderful vehicles and has created the incredible Emirates National Auto Museum. Some of the vehicles have been received as gifts, while others have been sourced from around the world. Many have been customized, and a number are rainbow-colored or have rainbow logos with matching seat covers and hubcaps/wheels. There's even a four-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz sedan Monster Truck, above.
In keeping with his “rainbow” theme, he owns a number of theme-painted Mercedes, one for each day of the week! Most are fitted with refrigerators, TVs and other luxury appointments. A rare Lamborghini LM002 and a bright yellow Prowler, above, always attract a lot of attention. Included in the collection are military vehicles, including one with a golf driving range on top. Children are encouraged to climb the oversize combat vehicles.
Other oddities include a 16-foot-high Dodge that houses a complete apartment under its roof parked next to dune-bashing monsters, Moon vehicle and a see-thru disco car! There's also a New York City Taxi, right. The Emirates National Auto Museum is located one-half-hour outside of Abu Dhabi.
